We are delighted, that you chose to study at HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences.


Below you will find some basic information on studying at the Department of Tourism.


Guide for incoming students

Soon you will be an exchange student at Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences. Therefore we developed a guide with all necessary information for incoming students. Thisguide for incoming students should help you with your application and start here in Munich and at our university.


For an exchange semester at our university you have to register online via thisRegistration Link . Please be aware that the application deadlines are May 15th for the winter semester and November 15th for the summer semester. In addition there must be a nomination by email from your home university under international-office@hm.edu.

Orientation Days

Before the start of every semester there will be an orientation week for all incoming students. You will receive the exact dates for this orientation week together with an information package about your studies at Hochschule München from our International Office.


During these orientation days (which are obligatory) you will receive all the important information about living in Munich and your semester at the Hochschule München. Enrolment also will take place during the orientation.


At the Department of Tourism, there will also be a welcome and orientation session before lectures start. We will assist you with registration of classes as well as working out your time table.

Registration for courses and examinations

For simply attending courses you won’t get any grades or ECTS credits. In order to get grades and ECTS credits you have to pass the exams, presentations and seminar papers.


Registration for courses of the Bachelor study programme Tourism Management


You can attend these courses without any registration. For exams you have to register online.


The registration deadlines will be announced on the info-screen several weeks after the beginning of the semester and you will receive an email about it.



For all other courses there will take place orientation sessions where you can register or you have to go to the first session in order to register.


Examination results & transcript of records

The Registrar's Office of Hochschule München will send transcripts of records for incoming students directly to their home universities once studies and exams are completed at Hochschule München.


Semester dates

The winter semester starts October 1st and ends February 15th. Usually lectures end mid-January. From mid-January until the end of January exams will be held.


The summer semester starts March 15th and ends August 1st. Usually lectures end at the end of June. Exams will be held from the end of June until mid July.
