An enriching experience for both lecturers and students

During the course of this winter semester, the Department of Tourism has had the honor of welcoming five international guest lecturers from four different countries, who all taught courses within the bachelor and master degree programmes.

  • Professor Ioannis Spilanis, University of the Aegean, Greece, teaches “Tourism Economy and Politics”, and “Market Research in Tourism” within the Tourism Management Master Programme
  • Professor Teresa Aguiar Quintana, Universidad de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain, taught a class in “Strategic Hospitality Management” within the Hospitality Management Master Programme
  • Professor Bill Gartner, University of Minnesota, USA, teaches a class in “Selected Problems within Destination Management” in the Bachelor Programme
  • Dr. Kyriaki Glyptou, from the University of the Aegean, Greece, teaches classes in “Special Interests Tourism” and “Sustainable Tourism Development in Insular Destinations” in the Bachelor Programme
  • Theo de Jong, M.A., Stenden University of Applied Sciences, The Netherlands, teaches “Project Management”, “Leisure Management”, “Sports Management”, and “Culture Economics” in the Bachelor Programme

It has been an enriching experience for both lecturers and students. It provided students with the opportunity to look at tourism from different international perspectives and helped grow their understanding of the global nature and interdependencies of tourism. We would like to take the chance to thank all our guest lecturers for their commitment, which we highly appreciate.
